A1 Borough Time Banking Project

This project has developed the services offered by
the 4 existing Time Banks which are in the Islington
Time Banks Network (ITBN), in order for them to further
expand their volunteering opportunities (time banking)
into the A1 Borough project i.e. along the A1 Road
running through the heart of Islington. In Phase 1
(12/04 to 31/3/05) initially this developmental work
concentrated on the North of the Borough. This Project
then expanded in two more Phases (2 & 3) to cover
the centre and the south of the A1 area respectively,
working closely with other A1 Neighbourhood Renewal
Funded projects. Phase 2 ran from 1.8.05 to 30.11.05.
We are now in Phase 3 which started on 1.12.05 and
will finish on 31.3.06.

In each of the Phases
developmental and outreach work is being undertaken with
at least 25 different local organizations. Also in Phases
2 & 3 intensive developmental support has been targeted
and offered to organisations in this A1 area in order
for them to set up their own Time Banks. Currently this
is being undertaken in the Arsenal, Barnsbury and EC1
areas.For any new time bank(s) to set up, this will be
dependant upon the partner organization(s) being able
to put in resources. |
