to mental and physical health resources and encouraging

How can Time Banks help
both individuals and the community?
We all need the help which extended families
used to provide. However this mutual support is becoming
less common, as family members often live many miles
apart. Time Banks can provide people with the opportunity
to build such local support networks, by exchanging
the hours that they have earned helping others. Time
Bank Members can develop new skills and work experience,
combating loneliness, isolation and prejudice. Time
Banking can restore a sense of self worth, which is
often taken away by unemployment or illness.
